The Student Scholarship Competition provides students with the opportunity to share their work on small satellite concepts and missions. Scholarships are awarded to competition finalists presenting at the Small Satellite Conference. Papers may be presented on relevant study and research related to:
Concepts (actual or proposed) may include hardware, uniquely applicable software, or mission results that serve to advance the state of the art or broaden the application of small satellites. Participation is open to all full-time undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in an engineering or scientific discipline at an accredited college or university. The Small Satellite Conference welcomes all students and encourages them to participate, whether they are presenting a paper or simply attending the Conference. With industry professionals, researchers, and exhibitors in attendance, the Conference is an excellent opportunity to make contacts while learning more about career opportunities and job demands. Attendees are encouraged to share their experiences and knowledge with the students who will soon be entering the expanding workforce. Student Paper Deadline April 13, 2010
ScholarshipsThe number and dollar value of the scholarships are determined on a yearly basis. A fund drive occurs each year in the industry and significant response is expected. Gwynne Shotwell leads the scholarship fund drive and the Utah State University Research Foundation acts as fiduciary. Scholarships will be awarded at the conference and the funds will be sent to the winners. Past scholarships have ranged from $500 (honorable mention) to $10,000 (1st Place). Companies or individuals who wish to contribute to the Student Scholarship Competition fund should contact Gwynne Shotwell at gwynne@spacex.net or complete and return the contribution form (below).
Expenses Student authors are required to register for the Conference at a reduced,
all-inclusive registration fee of $150. This fee covers admission, breaks, CD-ROM
Proceedings, Conference giveaway and lunch tickets. Authors
must provide their own transportation and lodging. |
