Exhibit FAQs

Who can exhibit in the commercial exhibit?

The commercial exhibit is intended for commercial enterprises — e.g., industry, governmental, for profit and not‐for‐profit. Programs that are research‐based or university‐funded are not eligible to exhibit in this area.

Who participates in the university exhibit?

The University Exhibit is exclusively dedicated to universities and their students, not commercial enterprises.

When does exhibitor registration begin?

For the 2010 Conference, exhibition registration will open Tuesday, February 2nd at 9:00 a.m. MST. Exhibit spaces are sold on a first‐come, first‐served basis. As spaces sell quickly, prompt registration is recommended.

What are the dimensions of exhibit spaces?

The Small Satellite Exhibition contains the following booth spaces:

Commercial:

  • 71 exhibit booths (8’ d x 10’ w)
  • 6 tabletop exhibits ( 8’ x 2’ table indicated by a “T” on the exhibit layout)

University:

  • 17 university exhibits (6’ x 2’ table included)
  •  University booth spaces are restricted to a tabletop display.

What is included in the exhibit booth fee?

The exhibit booth fee includes the following:

  • floor space (separated by pipe and drape)
  • up to four exhibit booth staff name badges (includes meals and refreshment breaks but not access to the technical program)
  • one discounted conference registration per booth space (grants access to the technical program)
  •  one copy of the Conference proceedings CD‐ROM
  •  a 150‐word organization description listed on the Small Satellite Conference website and included on the Conference Proceedings CD‐ROM
  • an organization description printed in the Conference Pocket Program distributed to each Conference participant at the time of check‐in
  • access to pre‐registered participant lists
  • participation in the exhibitor extravaganza—exhibiting companies participate in a game which encourages attendees to visit exhibits in all locations to be entered in a drawing for prizes

Some of our exhibit booth staff would like to attend the technical program. Do their exhibitor name badges grant them access?

Exhibitor name badges do not grant access to the technical program. Those desiring to attend sessions will need to register as full conference attendees. As a reminder, each booth space receives one discounted conference registration which does provide access to the technical program.

Staff members registering as full conference attendees will not be included in the four booth representative slots provided for each booth space.

Do I need to fill out the exhibitor name badge form for any of my exhibit staff members that are registered for the Conference?

New for 2010:  if you have staff members registered for the technical sessions, we ask that you please indicate this on the exhibitor name badge form to alleviate badge duplications.

I understand that the Taggart Student Center is open to the public during the Conference. Will my booth be secure?

The Small Satellite Conference will provide university security throughout the Conference venue. Additional security members will be provided for non‐show hours. Exhibitors must secure, at their own expense, appropriate liability/loss insurance and provide reasonable security for equipment and displays at all times. If exhibitors have supplies or equipment they would like to secure during non‐show hours, a locked room will be available for storage. Please make arrangements with Blair Moore for the storage of any supplies/equipment prior to the start of the Conference. Please visit the Show Rules and Regulations page for more information.

What is the Conference attire?

The dress attire for this Conference is business casual. Slacks, casual dresses and comfortable shoes are typical Conference attire. A sweater or jacket is also recommended, as the meeting rooms may be cool. Business suits, neckties or other business attire are acceptable, but not necessary.

Where do Conference participants park?

Free parking is available for conference participants in the parking terrace located on 700 North and the parking lot located on 400 North. Please visit the Travel and Transportation page for a map.

What do I do if I need to cancel?

Notification of cancellation must be made in writing by the company’s exhibit manager or authorized representative and faxed directly to show management at (435) 797–4160. Cancellations received by May 19, 2010, will be refunded exhibit space fees paid, less the cost of extended items and a $250 fee. No refunds will be provided after this date. Space may not be sublet. Cancellation policies for the exhibit decorator will be published in the exhibitor kit.
